5 Ways to Really Hit Those Goals
It’s easy to get swept up in the hype of the New Year as you suddenly begin to realize all that you need to accomplish in terms of you and your business. It’s time to begin your plan of attack on how you’re going to really hit your goals for 2017.
Write it Down You are much more likely to make these goals happen if you hold yourself accountable! Start with one goal and write it down in your planner, a notebook, your laptop—whatever it is you check the most so it’s present in your mind. Break it Down Once you write it down, it’s time to make it happen. Begin by breaking your goal down into smaller and simpler tasks that you can complete each week or each month. It’s so easy to get discouraged and feel like you’ll never get there when you have this huge goal staring at you in the face. Make your life and your job less complicated and more enjoyable by giving yourself feasible tasks that will help you stay on track. Be Realistic Allow this new energy of the New Year to help you be ambitious with your goals, but don’t let it lead you into the world of the impossible. It’s perfectly okay to set goals that will be difficult to fulfill, but stray away from ones that are unrealistic. Having a practical approach in mind will only enable you to complete what you truly will be able to complete. Setting Goals is a Marathon, Not a Sprint! If you were running a marathon you wouldn't try and bust out your first few miles as fast as you could or else you’d end up crawling over the finish line (and much later than expected). Pace yourself. Do not become overwhelmed by taking on too much for one goal. Odds are, if you have taken the time to read this post, the goal you have in mind for your business cannot be completed in a day or two. It will take time, so give it the proper growth it needs while allowing yourself to breath during the process. Just because fulfilling a goal can be hard doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to enjoy the ride! Celebrate Your Success! Celebrating your success in completion of a goal does not only give you the time to reflect on the amount of work that you’ve invested into the process of it, but it also provides you with the confidence to propel yourself into the next goal you have in mind for your small business. So what are you waiting for? The sooner you start, the sooner we can cheers to success!
